A story from Destiny Rescue

*Destiny Rescue is one of the three ministries that are being supported
through this year's Bike Challenge pledges.  Below is one story of a child rescued through this ministry.
It is stories like these that are motivating the 18 men to endure the heat and fatigue of this year's Bike Challenge!

SOLD FOR SEX BY MOTHER – Cambodia

CHONG -  Chong grew up in a home full of poverty, extreme abuse and neglect.
When Chong was 8 yrs old, her mother sold her to an older man to work as his servant.
The man exploited Chong, raping her young body multiple times.  Chong was hurt and
confused and didn’t know what to do.  After a time, Chong returned home to her family.

Chong’s mother sold her again to a lady who used Chong to plant and water her
lotus flower farm.   One day, a relative of the woman saw Chong alone in the fields and
raped her.  Chong returned home to a stepfather who started to molest her at night.
He was a very violent and drunk man and would often hurt Chong.  Chong’s mother
knew this was happening but did nothing to stop him because she was afraid of him.
Chong eventually ran away to her grandmother’s house to see help and safety.

Chong was found and rescued, and is now being cared for in a loving
 Destiny Rescue home.

Please note:  Names and some details have been changed to protect
the security and privacy of the victims

It's difficult to even read these stories...so grateful for ministries like Destiny Rescue and so grateful our church is supporting them.
