They’ve Been Gifted – Thanks for Your Support!

So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.

I Corinthians 15:45

The spirit of Jesus Christ, the Second Adam, gives life.

Jesus came to live among us, to die as payment for our sins, and to rise again that we might have life, and have it abundantly.  These are the great gifts we celebrate during Christmas.

Your support for They’ve Been Gifted also gives life.

Kirk Falconer explains Destiny Rescue's
 international mission to a shopper

“The girls we rescue want to be free. Support from events like this empowers them to be free by earning a living.”

Those words from Kirk Falconer of Destiny Rescue emphasize the direct link between that ministry’s efforts to rescue children from sexual exploitation and slavery and its quest to empower them through skills training and gainful employment. Most of the jewelry items offered at Destiny Rescue’s table were hand made by girls who are being rescued, restored, protected and empowered in the name of Jesus Christ.

Dennis Shawhan greets shoppers
at the Broken Chains table

Reverend Dennis Shawhan, Executive Director of Broken Chains Ministry, also expressed his appreciation for your support.

“This (They’ve Been Gifted) is a great opportunity for Broken Chains Ministry to attain financial support for our restorative justice programs. It’s also a wonderful chance to spread awareness of Broken Chains, and for us to network with other ministries, such as True North, who work toward the same goals.”

Since 2004, Broken Chains has been helping people in the Akron area successfully return from incarceration to a purpose-driven life as contributing members of our community with the support of a 50-organization collaborative known as the Summit County Reentry Network (SCRN). Broken Chains’ restorative justice work is done through mentoring, faith-centered programs, advocacy, identity restoration and work force development.

Other ministries you helped support at They’ve Been Gifted include PET OH-Stow, Lydia’s Purse (Haven of Rest), Hospital Shalom, Urban Vision, India Gospel League, True North, Artworks for Freedom, Door 2 (Operation Rescue Fund) and COCINA (Haiti).

Vince Petno explains how PET OH-Stow offers the chance to volunteer locally while having global impact

True North also benefitted from greater
awareness of their ministry

There was strong interest across the board in elevating Christmas shopping to a means of supporting God's Kingdom

Thank you!

Thanks for shopping at Christ Community Chapel’s They’ve Been Gifted event! Your willingness to benefit God’s Kingdom work is supporting Christian ministries that, in the spirit of Jesus, give more abundant lives to those whom they serve.
