This post was written by our of our families at Christ Community Chapel - pledges from this year's bike challenge will also go towards a fund to help CCC families with the adoption process.
Our family decided to pursue
adoption after experiencing 7 miscarriages after the birth of our first child,
Tiffany. Tiffany was 12 years old when
we began our international adoption journey.
We adopted our son, Noah, from South Korea in October, 2003 when he was
just five months old. We were not
required to travel to Korea as the country provided personal escorts to bring
Noah to us. We met Noah for the first
time in Detroit, Michigan. Noah is a
beautiful little boy with deep chocolate brown eyes, black hair and a
contagious smile. At the age of three,
Noah was diagnosed with Autism. Although
this has brought some challenges into our life, we wouldn’t want him to be any
different. He is a gift from God for
which we will be forever thankful and is a blessing to our family every single
day.
Adoption
is a very special experience that requires a lot of prayer and
perseverance. Although adoption can be
expensive, God is always faithful in providing what is needed, especially when
it is His will. “…to look after orphans
and widows in their distress…” (James 1:27).
Adopting Noah has given us a glimpse of the love God must have for us,
to adopt us into His family.
