In everything I showed
you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He
Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Followers of Jesus are to help those in need.
Just as
Jesus is our Deliverer, we are to be Jesus in the flesh for those who are weak
and in need.
How can we link up with those in need?
Haven of
Rest is a great avenue for this!
Haven of
Rest has a pressing need for volunteers in the women’s division. Except for
devotions leaders, the volunteers must be women. The positions are weekly
unless designated otherwise.
Needs:
·
9:00-11:00am – assist the House Super - cleaning and organizing
·
3:00-11:00pm – assist House Super & assist women’s day room– laying
out mats, helping at dinnertime, helping the resident/client women at chapel
& bedtime, some cleaning
·
9:00am-12:00pm – answer phones – any amount of time in that window –
this is an “as needed” position (vacations & illness)
·
1:00-4:00pm - answer phones – any amount of time in that window - this
is an “as needed” position
·
9:00am-12:00pm - children’s volunteers – playing, reading, rocking kids,
crowd control (when needed)
·
7:00-7:30pm - devotions leaders for the kids – this is
once-a-month – can be a man, woman, or group
·
7:00-7:30pm - devotions leaders for the kids – for the 5th
week, which will be only a few times a year - can be a man, woman, or
group
Haven of Rest's Harvest Home provides shelter and support for women and children in need.
