Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and
every kind of sickness.
Matthew
9:35
Jesus’ ministry
featured proclamation, healing and mobility.
As He
traveled, He proclaimed forgiveness and eternal life in the gospel. In addition to spiritual healing, He brought
physical healing.
Today, followers of Jesus are doing the same.
Among those
followers are the doctors, nurses and volunteers of Faithful Servants Care
Center, a Local Outreach ministry partner of Christ Community Chapel. Faithful Servants’ mission is to provide free urgent care services with a
Christ-like compassion for those without insurance and the economic means to
access traditional health care.
Faithful
Servants’ ministry is also mobile, with a medical
vehicle that extend care to the inner city of Akron, through partners
like Haven of Rest, South Street Ministries, and in the near future, Urban
Vision.
How can I
help?
If you’re
not a doctor or nurse, you can pray for and financially support Faithful
Servants. There is a great opportunity for this at the September 10th
fundraiser event, Black Tie & Angels in Blue Jeans. This takes place at
NEOMED.
