Haven of Rest’s Future Story is part of They’ve Been Gifted!

Future Story helps transform the lives of at-risk women in the Akron area. This Christ-centered organization will offer products for sale at Christ Community Chapel’s They’ve Been Gifted event on December 6^th and 7^th at CCC’s campuses.

When he had gone through those regions and had given them much encouragement, he came to Greece.

Christ Community Chapel ministry partner Haven of Rest has given rise to Future Story, a social enterprise job training program. Future Story trainees are mostly past residents and clients from Haven of Rest and Harvest Home. The program is designed to help women improve their economic situations by instilling hope and self confidence through training in designing and sewing skills.

How does this get practical?

For women in poverty who have barriers to regular employment, Future Story provides a way to create an income by selling the items they make at the Future Story Training Shop.  The participants learn basic business skills such as tracking and managing inventories, customer relations and marketing concepts along with skill development in design and sewing.   

How can I play a part?

Please prayerfully consider supporting Future Story by purchasing their products at the They’ve Been Gifted event. The items they sold last year went so fast that they were sold out after the 2nd  service.   We are excited to have them back again supporting Haven of Rest and all the things they do for the Kingdom.   They will be bringing hand made aprons for children and adults, tissue holders and grocery bag holders.
