In June, Legacies of Success is
Christ Community Chapel’s featured ministry partner. CCC is promoting Simple
Opportunities to Serve (SOS) at Legacies.
But let justice roll
down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Amos 5:24, ESV
God wants justice for
the oppressed.
His people are to be advocates for them.
How about today?
God’s heart for the oppressed is the
same today as in Old Testament times. He works through ministries like Legacies
of Success (LOS), a program of Urban Vision. Legacies prays over the
disenfranchised, unlike some landlords, who prey on them.
Legacies of Success Community
Development Corporation exists to revitalize the North Hill, Akron community by
transforming the neighborhood one house at a time. LOS rehabs local homes,
providing affordable housing for people in need. It also trains residents to
own the safety and desirability of their neighborhood as well as their houses.
Changing the lives of the current residents in the name of Christ is LOS’ top
priority.
What’s the opportunity?
