4 Jesus replied, “Go
back and report to John what you hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who
have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear,
the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6 Blessed is anyone who does
not stumble on account of me.”
Matthew 11:4-6
The coming of the Kingdom of God is marked by healing of brokenness.
Jesus told John the Baptist that this healing was a sign
that Jesus was the long-awaited Deliverer of God.
The incarnation of God in Christ Jesus is the greatest movement of love.
The God Who is without sin took on human flesh in the person
of Jesus, our Savior. Jesus came to seek
and save us lost sinners. This is the greatest search and rescue mission ever
conducted. Jesus Christ brings healing
to those whose relationship with God is broken by sin.
Followers of Jesus are to be His hands and feet, serving and bringing
healing to the lost and broken.
One way we can bring the healing Kingdom of God to the
broken is by serving in Jesus’ name.
Friends and Members of Christ Community Chapel have a great opportunity
to be Jesus incarnate to those in need in the Akron area. This opportunity is called the Local Outreach
Serving Spree. Serving Spree cards are
available at your CCC campus. The idea
is to learn about the healing ministries of CCC ministry partners, and actively
participate by serving alongside those partners.
What has been the response of God’s people?
To date, over 2,000 CCC members and friends have accepted
the Serving Spree challenge for individuals, families or Community Groups to
link up with 8 Local Outreach ministry partners during 2017. Over 2,000 Serving Spree commitment cards
have been picked up!
The cards show options for visiting a local ministry partner,
so you can better understand their mission, and how it might resonate with you.
There are also options for hands-on serving events.
At the CCC Local Outreach Serving Spree kickoff on January 15th, CCC members and friends had the chance to tour the Pregnancy Solutions & Services ultrasound vehicle.
We thank God that so many have responded. We do indeed have a heavenly Father. And, our
Father has a will, that the Gospel message of healing and restoration in Jesus
be shared. And, our Father has a Kingdom.
God’s
people have committed to bring the healing Kingdom of God to our neighbors in
need in the Akron area. We pray that
this movement will impact our area for the glory of God, so more people will recognize that our
Father’s Kingdom has indeed come.
