25 “Therefore I tell you,
do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink,
nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the
body more than clothing? 26 Look
at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and
yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

God provides for the needy.
He
meets needs for food, clothing and other necessities. However, Jesus reminds us
in this passage the life is more than food.
God provides through His people, who serve in His name.
Haven
of Rest Ministries has provided for the temporal needs of the less fortunate in
the Akron area for over 70 years. Since life is more than food, Haven also
ministers to the eternal needs of men, women and children. This CCC ministry
partner introduces people to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Who is the Bread of
Life.
How can I be part of this?
Consider
which of these options may be a calling for you:
Give: Haven of Rest has an upcoming clothing
drop off weekend. Please bring gently used clothing to the Christ Community Chapel
Hudson campus the weekend of Sept. 20-21 before or after service. Drop off in
the Atrium of the Hudson Campus. Be sure to mark your donations ‘Haven of Rest.’
Serve: Gather a group of 5-7 of your
friends and schedule a night to serve dinner at Haven of Rest. You will be
guided through the entire process by the staff at Haven. It is a wonderful

Pray: Sign up to be a prayer warrior
for Haven of Rest. You will receive a monthly email with 3 prayer
requests/praises for the ministry to lift up in prayer throughout the month. To
